Those among you who follow me since the beginning of this blog, or even from its predecessor, will know how I’m doomed to spend a significant part of my life looking for metaphysical places, situations, or representations. It may be related with my background in engineering, where physical laws are studied and repeated as mantras, till metaphysics eventually becomes a representation of freedom. During this trip around Sicily I found empty shores, as well as empty campings, to be quite metaphysical places. Let alone empty shores of empty campings, a squared emptiness, of function rather than space. The silence sounds like a melody while I compose these places into the viewfinder, and dusk is just the perfect time to compose these kind of images.
The only problem may be the light, but the RX1 provides such excellent jpegs at 3200ISO that can even be stressed during post-production (done on iPad with Photogene) to correct for white balance, levels, contrast, and even add brushes and gradient filters.
