Wreck of an African boat which brought more than sixty illegal immigrant to the Italian shore of Isola delle Correnty, Sicily. I’ve heard some tough stories about how the Italian authorities treated those sixty souls, which went ashore in the middle of summer season, when this beach is totally crowded by families and tourists…
Of how the police pointed their shotgun at the immigrants, for example.
Of how the tourists were forbidden to even quench the thirst of those, who God knows how long have stayed cramped in that little boat.
Of how some policemen pointed his gun at one of the tourists, when he didn’t listen to the first warning and gave a bottle of water to the illegal crowd.
I’ve heard these and many other stories, but this is what they are: stories. I have no way to validate them, neither to interview different sources. And so this is how I’m presenting them to you, as stories, that is. Cruel stories. That’s for sure.
Basically no post-production here, besides the cropping (done with Photo Forge 2). Long exposure at full aperture and low ISO.
