It’s late in the evening when the whole family eventually returns home from this long and intense weekend. Agata fell asleep at my parents, and still luckily is, while Claudia and I feel totally stuffed by the last three days of almost continuos eating.
First thing in the “morning”, that is around noon, we organized by phone a nice lunch in a typical Roman cuisine restaurant nearby, in the neighborhood of Testaccio. Nicholas was eager to close his weekend in Rome with a rich and tasty meal, and since also Michele and some of his friends were looking forward for something to do, we ended up all together, having incredible food and drinking excellent wine. It was clearly nice, and we left the restaurant around four stuffed as happy turkeys.
Afterwards Claudia and I brought Nicholas to the train station and then drove to the other side of the city to collect Agata. I still had to publish the post of the day before, so we stayed at my in-laws for around one hour, Claudia and Agata playing with the grandparents, me working on my laptop. It was around seven when we finally left.
At this point we drove back to our side of the city, heading to my parents’. Since my sister is leaving in a few days to spend the Christmas at his boyfriend’s northern town, my family organized a pre-Christmas dinner so we could share our rate of gifts and food. So, yes, we closed these three days of eating with a Christmas dinner. I thought I was going to succumb already at the first course…
And here we are, parking the car in the garage, now seriously stuffed, Agata sleeping, Nicholas back in The Netherlands, Michele close to fly back to U.S.A., another tough week waiting for us. From tomorrow morning we’re back to our routines.
