Living in a central area means living with all the services at walking distance. It means, for example, that if I get back from the office at seven I still have plenty of time to get down the street, have a DVD for a maternity photo-shoot printed, have a couple of shirts dry cleaned, buy Agata’s food at the supermarket, get some meat for the barbecue at the butcher, buy bread and wine at the grocery, even take the daily shot at one of the dark corners of the neighborhood, all without taking the car and walking less than one km and in less than half an hour. Just in time to greet my parents and cousins for an aperitif on the roof terrace.
I’m really barbecuing the hell out of this Autumn, and I won’t stop till it keeps offering such warm evenings. I’m talking t-shirt warm, serious stuff. We got lamb, sausages and a couple of thin steaks, a lot of red Morellino di Scansano wine, and roasted potatoes. The aperitif was extra rich too, with prosecco wine, salami and cheese, artichoke pie, mozzarella, and other stuff. It has been incredibly nice. It always is.
Besides my food adventures, I’m still working on the new studio set-up. I received an email from Idan, who read the post (cheers!) and wanted to share some opinions on the Manfrotto system I’m thinking of getting. He basically said that it’s great if you have a “high enough ceiling”. Now, I’m pretty sure than 2.70 meters doesn’t qualify for “high enough”, does it? I can get as far as seven or eight meters from the background, if this helps. Well I can get even farther if I step out of my flat…
What do you think? Would it work? Are there other options? Idan? Anyone?
