I keep studying lights, modeling, fashion photography, all trying not to freak out. A few things, which could turn out quite big, are happening. Fingers crossed, legs crossed, whatever possible crossed. I should be able to say something more quite soon, I hope.
Julia still playing model at my studio, and today I feel we got way further than yesterday. I’m still limited by the current studio equipment, so no proper background (here I used the reflector to simulate a white vinyl sheet), just two strobe lights with 60×40 softboxes, no boom for the hair light, etc. However limited I may be, I got much better in measuring the light on the haircut (which is my main goal at this time) and positioning the strobes accordingly.
I didn’t modify any of the lights (or the shadows) of this shot, I just tweaked the contrasts, the sharpness and the global brightness… and yeah, I added a bit of skin smoothing too. So, the tones and the light you see are the ones I planned and set up.
Not perfect, yet, but a step further. I just have to keep working and studying.
