Sixth day of “Night Walking”.
Porta Portese, Rome, shop window.
This place is just in front of my flat, basically as far as I could get to walk the dog in the last few months before she died. Lucy was really old and didn’t like long walks, nor medium ones for what matters. Now, in my lonely night walks, I can cover long distances again. I’m scouting and remembering. I’m exploring and mourning. And yet walking a lot is more something I do to clear my head and my eyes than anything else. Because this shot I could have just walked out the flat, take it, and be back to my desk in less than five minutes. But that’s not how it works.
These creepy headless ghost-kids appearing in all their stiffness in the middle of a snow-covered thick wood… I don’t know who got the idea for this shop window, I mean, fine, the clothes aren’t bad at all, but the headless monsters! Came on, Lucy would have never stopped barking at them.
Superb picture!!
thanks Toni!
