I worked hard all day long in order to get rid of all my urgent deadlines (and after nine days out of reach because in Alaska, I stacked up a lot of deadlines!) so to bring the family to the summer house, moving them out of the burning hot weather that is literally burning Rome. And I made it through. But I ended working very late, I was exhausted, so with Claudia we decided to close the bags and go eat something in the excellent trattoria “Osteria Fernanda” before getting in the car and taking the ride to the seaside.
Osteria Fernanda is not only one of the best restaurants in Rome, it is also located exactly in front of our apartment building entrance. It is one of those benefits that can hardly be priced.
The dinner was excellent, as usual, full of creative and delightful recipes. The problem is, after such a nice dinner, and an exhausting working day, the last thing I wanted to do was getting in the car and starting a two hours ride. Especially knowing that as soon as we’d arrive, Agata would wake up and stay awake for at least a couple of hours.
The perspective was so unbearably tiring that we ended up… upstairs! We’ll leave first thing tomorrow morning, but right now it’s time to go to bed and get some rest. Osteria Fernanda keeps cheering its guests with excellent food, I can smell it from the terrace, it’s so good I would almost like to return there for a second course.
