Early wake-up this morning,g, since the Beaver (a bad-ass, old school, single-engine, high-wing, propeller-driven float/bush plane) came to catch us up at the cabin lake at nine o’clock. Totally different weather, bright sunset with puffy white clouds. It the perfect weather for solid aerial photography, something that comes quite easy when done from a Beaver flying over the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.
With its woods, forests, plateaus, prairies, mountains, hills, deserts, rivers, lakes, shores, and islands, all mixed in random sequences, landscape after landscape, it really never gets boring to point the camera out of the large bubble window, compose and shoot. The few puffy clouds helped in creating gorgeous light effects on the ground, with the dew-wet grass shining emerald-green where hit by the sun.
Besides flying over these magical places, the day has been seriously intense. While hiking, we came across a few bears fishing. I’ve seen the scene many times on TV, but seeing it “live”, well, for the first time I “related” with the salmon more than with the bear. Being torn apart, eaten alive, even fed to cubs, is incredibly not such a remote chance as it was back in Rome…
How are you liking the zeiss 24? Is it worth the asking price, relative to rangefinder glass?
Well, the lens is surely good, but I can't really compare it to any rangefinder wide angle, since I don't have neither have ever tried any… I still prefer the 35mm skopar over the 24mm zeiss, but it's unfair to compare a 24mm with a 35mm… anyway, are there any fast 21mm/28mm rangefinder lenses at a comparable price? I've never seen any…
