This has literally been the longest day in my life. I never went to sleep last night because I had to leave home for the airport at 3.30am. My first flight took off at 6.20am, while dawn was ending and sunrise approaching. Little did I know, that very sun was going to keep me company for the following 26 hours. First I flew to Amsterdam Schipol. Then to Minneapolis. Then to Anchorage. And finally to Kodiak. Around nineteen hours of flight. From the moment I left my house in Rome to the moment I finally stepped into my hotel room at Kodiak’s Best Western Inn, 29 hours had passed.
So, how’s Alaska? I’m way too tired to answer the question. This dusk, this rain, this building.
The real adventure starts tomorrow, now it’s time to go to bed and to fight the jet-lag.
