Now that we’re finally settled, we have to get Agata baptized. Since our new place is so close to the city center, we would like to have the baptism in one of the marvelous ancient churches of Rome. We happen to know the priest rector of Sant’Agnese in Agone, the gorgeous church on the west side of Piazza Navona. The one in front of the main fountain. If you’ve been in Rome, you’ve seen it.
Don Gianni was the parish priest of the church in the suburban area where both Claudia and I grew up, so he knows us and our families quite well. He was reassigned to Sant’Agnese in Agone around ten years ago. He’s a very good priest, and was able to build a new large community in each place in which he’s been.
Sant’Agnese in Agone is great, mostly built by the famous Borromini. I won’t bother you with any description, you can simply look for it on wikipedia if you wish.
Here’s the majestic dome.
