With the support of Sony we’ll all keep enjoying our mutual company for another year of daily shots, this time with the new top professional compact system, the RX1. I sincerely find it great that such a major company would help a blogger to share his work and passion. In this blog I want to focus on the artistic/technical aspects of photography, and I will do it by exploring twelve themes/subjects, one for each month. Thirty days to produce thirty images on a subject, twelve months to explore twelve subjects, all with the same camera and the same lens: 365 Days of RX1 – one camera, one lens, 12 projects.
So long, fellas, let’s start doing photography.
60/365 – “Doll’s House” nr.1, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO400, f/16, 2s, raw “365 Days of RX1: one camera, one lens, 12 projects” is now at its third monthly theme. Me and the RX1 will stay closed in the studio, this month, cause the “Doll’s House” […]
59/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.31, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO640, f/2.8, 1/80, raw This second month of the 365 Days of RX1 has passed, along with the first month of the pontiff of Pope Francesco. I has been quite an intense time, both for the Catholic […]
58/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.30, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO100, f/3.5, 1/640, raw Time to leave? It almost is, for me, time to leave the “Habemus Papam” theme and, with it, the sacred-side of Rome. These nuns aren’t probably leaving either Rome or the Pope, since […]
57/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.29, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO100, f/5.6, 1/400, raw Tens of thousands gathered today in Saint Peter’s square, under the warm and beautiful sun of the Roman spring, for the third General Audience of Pope Francesco. As usual, the Pope entrance is […]
56/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.28, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO3200, f/2.8, 1/80, raw A quiet, outrageously beautiful, basilica, the one of San Paolo Fuori le Mura (Saint Paul outside the walls). My favorite among the four papal basilicas. The one which, the next Sunday, is going […]
55/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.27, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO100, f/2.8, 1/320, raw A (Southern)-Western European metropolis and capital city such as Rome should, in theory, represent that secular age the Western World is currently considered to be going through. And it surely is if you […]
54/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.26, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO100, f/2.8, 1/800, raw It was a special Sunday for Pope Francesco, today. By finally celebrating the Mass at the most important of the four papal basilicas, the one of San Giovanni in Laterano (Saint John in […]
53/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.25, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO100, f/2.8, 1/2000, raw, distortions corrected with PTLens To most of the tourists, Rome isn’t solely the city which hosts the Vatican and the Holy See, but also the capital of what was called the “Dolce Vita”, […]
52/365 – “Habemus Papam” nr.24, a photo by Luca Rossini on Flickr. Sony RX1, 35mm f2 Carl Zeiss ISO100, f/3.2, 1/160, raw Most of the fuss about the new Pope and the old one may now be fading-out, but surely the hundreds of tourists constantly queuing to get in Saint Peter’s basilica are still there, […]
